HEAL THE WRITE WAY

Your Story Has Been Waiting Long Enough

Heal the Write Way is a group writing program for nurses, healers, and deep feelers who are ready to stop carrying their stories in silence and start putting them on the page.

Registration is open now for Fall 2026.

Spots are very limited.

Let’s name the lie first.

The one that sounds like: no one wants to hear your story. Someone has already told it better. If you share your truth, you’ll lose people. Your story only counts if it gets published, goes viral, or becomes a bestseller.

That lie has kept some of the most profound stories in the world locked inside the bodies of the people who lived them.

The nurse who held a dying patient’s hand at 3am. The healer who has witnessed the most moving and magnificent stories. The mother, the teacher, the helper who has more wisdom in her bones than most published authors ever find.

Your story does not need to earn its right to exist. It already has one.

Who Heal the Write Way is for

You are someone who feels deeply and collects stories everywhere you go. You have a life full of wonder, grief, surprise, and hard-won wisdom. You know, somewhere, that you are meant to share it.

And something keeps stopping you.

Maybe it is fear of being seen. Maybe it is not knowing where to start. Maybe you have been punished before for speaking your truth and your body learned to stay quiet. Maybe you have a manuscript half-finished in a drawer, or a memoir that has been living in your chest for years, and you just need the container, the community, and the permission to finally write it.

You might be a nurse, a doctor, a coach, a therapist, a social worker. You might be a mother or a caregiver. You might be someone who has never called yourself a writer, and someone who has written in secret for decades.

All of it belongs here.

What Heal the Write Way actually is

It is a 12-week group writing experience grounded in Julia Cameron’s Artist’s Way framework, with a significant difference: here, the rules get to bend. There is no one right way to do the morning pages. There is no perfect artist’s date. There is only the practice of showing up to the page with grace and curiosity, and a community of humans who are doing the same thing.

We write together. We read our words aloud. We witness each other. Something cracks open when you do that, when you speak something you have never spoken, and the room meets it with silence and love instead of judgment.

That is the medicine. And it works.

What’s included

The curriculum

12 self-paced video modules following the arc of Julia Cameron’s creative recovery framework, adapted with somatic writing practices, embodiment work, and nervous system tools. Writing prompts, mindfulness audios, and weekly worksheets accompany each module. New modules are being recorded for this season with an updated platform.

For writers ready to publish

If you are working toward a manuscript, a memoir, or publishing for the first time, additional modules and resources are available to support you in the craft and process of getting your work into the world.

The community

A private space to share your writing, receive feedback, and stay connected between sessions. Many of the deepest transformations happen in the community, not just on the calls.

The live sessions

Weekly live group sessions where we ground, write together, share, and receive coaching. These are the heart of the program. They are 75 to 90 minutes of witnessing, play, and real talk. All sessions are recorded.

For Nurses

All our programs offer continuing education units (CEUs) for nurses through the American Nurse Coach Association (ANCA), endorsed by the American Nurses Association (ANA)

The method, simply put

Morning Pages. Artist’s Dates. Deep listening. Somatic writing. A guide who will hold your story with the same reverence she has held thousands of patients, clients, and human beings who trusted her with their truth.

The guiding principle of this program is the same one Rachel brings to everything she does: your body doesn’t need more information. It needs more practice. More safety. More permission to express what it has been carrying.

Writing is how we give it that permission.

What past participants say

“Prior to joining this program, I was struggling to write social media posts. It didn't feel safe in my body to share. Rachel, this program is so good. You have created gold. I started writing a freaking book.”

—  Jenie Bennett, BSN, HWNC-BC

“I think every nurse should take this workshop. It's not just about writing, it's really about creative recovery. You will discover that it can be breathtaking, transformative, and truly magical.”

—  Linde Carter, Grief Coach / End of Life Doula / Writer

“My life was in turmoil. Although I’ve not solved all the things I walked into this group with, I found the comfort and support of human caring and understanding. Writing is a healing tool literally at your fingertips. I will forever continue to write my way to healing.”

—  Joy Johansen Slaman, RN NC-BC

“To be able to write and dig through the shadows of yourself and come out shining is the most amazing feeling. My most favorite change is the general peace of mind I now carry with me. Now I know how to find my way back to peace.”

—  Wendy Parker, RN

“I came to Rachel because I’d always wanted to write and use my voice, but I had no idea how much more I would uncover. I learned to listen to my body, to rest without guilt, and to stop white-knuckling my way through life. I 1000% would tell anyone, you need to do this.”

—  Shannon, RN

“Taking an artist’s date and writing morning pages is a godsend. I am able to articulate my thoughts better and understand that there is an underlying cause to my stress. It really makes you think deep and gets you interested in what is in your mind that wants to come out.”

—  Monica Bean, BSN, RN, CCM, NC-BC

“I have been self-conscious around my writing and this workshop allowed me the freedom to just write and read my writing without feeling judged. The morning pages taught me to open up and write daily, which allowed me to free up space in my head for my day-to-day thoughts. When I become stressed, I have learned to write.”

—  Sally Davidson, RN, holistic coach and somatic guide

“Before this program, I would not have shared my writing, but Rachel created a loving, nurturing safe space for me to share. I can say with confidence that I have found my voice. I am able to express myself through writing without fear and doubt. I discovered that I wasn’t alone in this struggle and this knowledge has helped to build my confidence.”

—  Rhonda Markham, BSN, RN, NC-BC

“Before I started Heal the Write Way, I was locked up. I had trouble sorting out thoughts or ideas. I wanted to be able to express myself and find my voice. Morning pages clears out the wacky thoughts and makes for more clarity and makes the days lighter no matter what’s going on. I only wish this was a little longer, because I wasn’t ready for it to end.”

—  B. Ely, RN, BSN, HWNC-BC

“This program was amazing. It offered me true tangible support along with mindset shifts. I now call myself an artist and a writer. The morning pages is a tool I will go back to over and over again. Writing gives me a way to express my innermost thoughts. I’ve offered this program to so many already — people who are looking to heal something, people looking to tap into their creativity, people creating something they’ve never created before. ”

A few questions you might have

Do I need writing experience?

No. People join this program having never written anything since high school and leave having started a memoir. People also join with manuscripts already in progress and use the container to push through the blocks keeping them stuck. All levels belong here.

Do I need to buy The Artist’s Way?

The program draws on Julia Cameron’s work and it is recommended but not required. Everything you need is inside the program.

When does the next season start?

September 2026. Exact dates and times are being firmed up. Join the waitlist or apply now and you’ll be the first to know.

What if I can’t make every live session?

All sessions are recorded. Life happens. The most important thing is that you keep showing up to the page.

Ready to write your way home?

Applications for Fall 2026 are open now. Spots are very limited and filled by application so we can make sure the group is the right fit for everyone in it.

Not ready to apply yet? The Writing Room is free and open now, a weekly drop-in writing space where you can start the practice, meet the community, and get a feel for the way Rachel holds space before the program begins. Many people who join HTWW find their way in through The Writing Room first.
